At the end of the Uni exams i went on a little holiday to South Australia for just over a week. It was a really fun and relaxing time.
This is the lovely Port Augusta. A fine place
Here you can see the beautiful Whyalla. I actually thought this town was a bit of a hole. Especially because, as you can see in this photo, iron ore dust is blown all over this town from the nearby factory making it go red. Yuck!
However... they did have a boat in the sky in this town...
And finally, i went to the outback! It's impressive in its vastness, but i wouldn't say that it's beautiful.

Yeah, I was about to say after the second photo. What a hole. They probably have nice people there but.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on graduating!
ReplyDeleteJust think, you could have studied engineering and then gotten a job at the refinery... But yeah, as Jonny said, I'm sure the people are great.
ReplyDeleteI would disagree wrt outback though, I think it is beautiful. But that was looking south from Alice rather than north from north of Port Augusta... And it had been raining quite regularly - it was actually disappointing in a weird way cos everything was green. But randomly coming across camels and brumbies and cows is also pretty awesome or awesomely pretty, whichever you prefer...
So, next time, trek further north!
There's nothing wrong with Wyhalla, it's a fun place, especially if you go on a tour of the steel works - very interesting! The ship is so random though...
ReplyDeleteHehe, that bit of road looks kinda familiar... Is that the highway that gets you to Coober Pedy?
